Ahlan Lauds Kano NLO Clubs, Sponsors of Dromeda SC’s Ramadan Cup

The final match of the two-week Dromeda Ramadan Cup, featuring Kano-based teams from the Nationwide League Division One, took place this Friday, April 12, 2024, at Bayero University Kano’s Old Site grass pitch.

Before the 2024 Nationwide League One (NLO) Season, set to commence in a few days, Dromeda Sports Club sponsored this event to help participating teams stay in good shape.

Amidst fun celebration and fanfare during the Ramadan cup final, deserving individuals who have supported NLO Clubs were honored.

One notable awardee is NFF board member and Chairman Kano football association, Dr. Shariff Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan, recognized for his vital role in grassroots football development in the state.

Board member of the Nigeria football association and Chairman of Kano football association Dr. Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan alongside other dignitaries, including Chairman Sports Consultative Committee of Bayero University Kano; Prof. Musa Garba Yakasai attended the final match of the Dromeda Ramadan Cup Invitational held on 12th April 2024 at Bayero University Kano grass pitch.

In an interview with Dromeda Media and other press representatives; Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan, commended the Chairman of Dromeda SC Dr. Muhammad Auwal Umar for generously sponsoring the event with over a million naira.

He emphasized that increased participation of private clubs in football development is crucial for fostering a healthier football environment in the country. The seasoned sports administrator pledged to work together with journalists in the state to assist willing private organizations in conducting more such events to foster football development in Kano.

Finally, Ahlan called on corporate bodies and well-meaning philanthropists to always be ready to seize the opportunity of football to connect with youth in the state.

On his part, Prof. Yakasai expressed delight at witnessing such an event totally sponsored by a private club stating his keen desire in exploring working with private clubs in the university

Other honorees include the National SWAN Exofficio and former Chairman of SWAN Kano, Alhaji Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu; Chairman of the NLO Forum, Alhaji Aminu Baba; Chairman of SWAN Kano, Mal Zaharadeen Saleh; along with many players and coaches who excelled during the two-week event.

In this league-style competition, popular Kano NLO side Clever Warriors finished second, while the host team came in third.

Hosts Dromeda Sports Club will face off against competition winners Turbo Touch Academy in a special final game which ended 2-0 in favour of Dromeda.
